1. Vinyl lettering should only be placed on clean,
hard surfaces (wood, walls, furniture, mirrors,
cars, etc.)
2. When applying vinyl to a painted, wood board,
make sure to let the paint dry completely! (The
vinyl won't stick on wet surfaces).
3. It's yours! Try different surfaces, locations,
etc. Just be creative!
APPLICATION:
1. When you receive your vinyl, it will come
stricking
together between two types of paper: backing
paper
and application tape (looks like masking tape).
2. You may want to rub the tape with a flat edge
tool
(credit cards work great)to make sure the
letters
are sticking to the application tape.
3. Decide where you want the vinyl to go. Center
the
lettering by measuring from the actual vinyl
letters
(not the edge of the paper as it might not be
perfectly straight) for desired placement.
4. Place a strip of masking tape on the top edge of
the vinyl strip to hold it in place. This will
act
as a hinge as you remove the backing paper. Make
sure all the vinyl letters are on the
application
tape! If not, replace the backing paper and rub
with flat edge tool again.
5. Once the backing paper is removed, pull the
vinyl strip
tight to prevent wrinkles. When it is on the
surface,
use your flat edge tool to rub over the
application tape,
making sure to concentrate on smaller or thin
letters.
6. Slowly remove the application tape from the
surface. Make
sure vinyl is sticking to the surface. If not,
replace
tape and rub again.
REMOVING VINYL:
Sometimes, you can gently peel away vinyl with your fingernails. If vinyl has been on surface for a long time, use a blow dryer on a low setting to warm up vinyl and peel away.
**REMEMBER: Vinyl is not reusable.
